OUR STORY
The Bride
For me, it all began at a youth program hosted by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Goodnews Centre, with Rev. Tony Richie in attendance and other great ministers of God. I had gone there to sell books and, in the process, called a contact number I found on the event flyer.
We only spoke on the phone, and I briefly met the young man on the last day of the program, just to say thank you. For me, that was goodbye.
A few days later, he called again.
“Amara, I’ve been watching you for a while. I like you, and I want us to be friends,but a friendship with the intention of marrying you.”
I was stunned. I had his name saved as ‘TGC Youth Pastor’ and could barely place him. Confused, I asked, “Where did you know me from? I’ve only met you once, and I don’t even know you.”
But here’s the twist…
The Groom
For me, it began at the Superlife office, praying together with the JCCF team and some senior authorities in the faith in 2021.
She joined the prayers, and before long, I learned about her involvement in IMSU politics. Her matter was even brought up for us to pray about and to get churches involved in ensuring she won the election.
Later, I planned the annual youth program as the Youth Coordinator for RCCG YP16. We had Rev. Tony and Apostle Orokpo, and other great ministers- she needed a slot to sell her books.
After the event, she called back just to say thank you. She was the only one who did. That simple act piqued my interest. Beyond many other convictions I had, I liked her from that moment.
Everything else continued with prayers and of course, chasing hard after her.
After several ‘no’s,’ she finally fell into my arms to be mine forever.
The Bride
Yes! I’m in his arms till Jesus calls us home. His patience, consistency, and quiet strength gave birth to our wedding theme: #OasisOfLove.
